Kansas Focus is an agency that provides both Residential and Vocational services to adults in Johnson County. Our services are designed for those individuals who have been diagnosed with Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities.
The staff and management of Kansas Focus have years of experience providing community supports to people with disabilities. One of our noted strengths is staff retention, we focus on retaining quality staff within our program.
We screen prospective staff per state and company regulations. We are open to interviewing and considering potential staff recommended by individuals receiving services.
All staff receive ongoing training and support to ensure quality services for the individuals in our program. Standard trainings include: Orientation, On the Job Training (which is individual specific), 1st Aid, CPR, Rights and Responsibilities, Abuse/Neglect, Bloodborne Pathogens, MANDT Relational Units. Other trainings in specialty areas are also available as needed.
Kansas Focus is a community based service provider focusing on the individual needs of each person receiving services. We support individuals who want to live as independently as possible in their own home/apartment by providing person-centered services.
We focus on the individual needs of each person receiving services. We teach daily living skills, rather than doing the tasks for the individual. This promotes independence for the individual. We utilize a team approach, with the individual receiving services being the center of that team of support.
Kansas Focus utilizes a Nationally Certified Vocational Specialist with a 95% success rate. Our overall goals are to secure Vocational opportunities that match each individual's strengths and interests.
